Victoria's Prompt Ideas

One of my favorite shows is Grey’s Anatomy.  It has been on air for so long, and so much has changed over the course of its time on TV.  I can start watching anywhere in the series and still be sucked in to tapping “next episode” over and over. Instead of writing about the show itself, it could be interesting to review the show’s evolution from the beginning to what it is like now. The NUin program- this could be an interesting thing to review because it is full of expectations and it is very much an opinion (because so many people had so many different experiences, and view them differently).  I also think there is a lot of room to talk about background information and to talk about my own views on whether I’d recommend the program and describe how I felt during my experiences in the program.  One of my favorite pairs of shoes I own is my Birkenstocks. During the spring/summer/fall (ok basically any month where the temperature is over 50ยบ ) I am always...

Working Drafts! Deadline Extended! And other announcements.

It feels like it's been a month, and it's only Thursday. I wanted to check in about the review assignment. I've heard from a number of you, and.... we're kind of all over the place. So, I'm going to make the deadline for Working Drafts  Monday, March 30.   I made a brief video (I've been trying to figure out the best program since we went online two weeks ago! I found one that I think works), in which I talk to you a little bit about all this and then, with the help of my six-year-old assistant, set you up with partners for peer review.  Here goes nothing: http://somup.com/cYeO2z1Xty For those of you without the patience or fortitude to sit through the whole thing, here are your partners: On Monday, please share your working draft as a Google Doc with me and your partner.  If you don't have your partner's email address, mention it in the comments below this post. As a reminder, here is the standing link to Friday's office ...

Review Ideas

The first thing that I am interested in reviewing is the recently released movie, After. Based on a book series by Anna Todd, this is a teenage romance movie that pegged me as good at the surface but could have been much better. Also, having read the book I would like to base some of my critique on how the movie and book differ and remain similar. The second thing that I am interested in reviewing is Justin Bieber's new album, Changes. I would like to write a review on this because I will admit that I was once (and still am to a degree) a big Biebs fan plus I love music. I think it will be interesting to compare his latest album to all of his previous works. The third thing that I am interested in reviewing is one of the new and top trending shows on Netflix, Love is Blind. I began watching this show on the flight back to Boston after spring break and the concept, while not really original, is intriguing nonetheless. Speed dating and blind dating have been around for a very lon...
