I have lost track of what number day this is of the "social distancing". I am definitely 100% of the concept of social distancing, but I am starting to go a little crazy. I love my house and my family and everything, but I definitely miss not only my college friends, but also my high school friends. It is such a weird concept that we are all only 10-20 minutes away from each other, yet we still are not able to hang out. The other day, some of my friends and I decided to drive to our high school and park our cars next to each other and talk through the windows. Not the best technique, but at least it gave us an opportunity to get out of our houses and talk to other people besides our family members. It was also able to give me a nice break from getting caught up on the never ending biology notes. Right when I think I am finally caught up with all of the notes, two more fifty minute powerpoint presentations appear. I am definitely ready to get this exam on Thursday out of the way, so I can take a break from learning about what seems to be every single organism on the planet. Learning about all of these organisms was very interesting at first, but when the list keeps growing and growing of things we need to do, it is no longer very interesting. I feel like having to know so many different organisms and so many small details about them kinda takes away the fun of learning about them. Marine biology has always been something I have been very interested in, and now even learning about the different types of jellies (not jellyfish), I am no longer finding myself to be interested in it, but it has definitely turned more into a chore to have to learn about them. I just find myself trying to memorize all of this information, and for what? I kinda just wish we had the time to actually learn the information, instead of profusely trying to jam all of the information into our heads at what seems like all hours of the day and night. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their quarantines!
