Oh, COVID - 19. How the world has changed in just a week. My peers and I keep feeling we are living in a movie with the genre being dystopian society. Everything leading up today, has felt like one large domino effect. First was the announcement that classes would be online. Next, was the knowledge that move out was optional which later turned into mandatory. Then, I learned I would need to store everything from my dorm in storage because there was no telling when I would next return back to Boston. On top of this, rumors began to spread regarding bans on domestic travel in addition to the already existing ban on international travel. Trump mentioned his possibility of stopping flights to and from California/Washington because they were states with high levels of cases. This worried me completely because I live in California. After hearing all of this, my parents insisted I move out immediately and catch the earliest flight home - while I still could. Following learning that I was le...

Tutoring for the first time at EMK last Wednesday was more of a challenge than I initially thought it would be. I've always been someone who enjoys getting tutored by other people but never the other way around. I guess I don't enjoy the idea of tutoring someone because I have never felt confident enough in myself to teach another person a subject that I wasn't strong in. It wasn't until high school that I realized the importance of having a tutor. Prior to that, I "got away" with school through engaging with my teachers, talking to others, and honestly Google. But, elementary school and middle school compared to high school was definitely easier. The pace of work didn't really pick up (in my opinion) until my freshman year. Integrated Math 1 was the class that changed everything for me. I never was a huge math person but this class, at the time, felt like rocket science (boy was I in for a surprise *aka Pre-Calculus and AP Statistics*) I began getting mor...

Unfortunately, I have run out of things to write. I am bored. I am locked at home with almost nothing interesting to do. My life has become absolutely boring.  Nothing new is happening. I do the exact same thing every single day. I have not left my house in over two weeks, except to go on a daily walk around my neighborhood. I have not gotten in my car once. I’ve been thinking about going out for a drive, but then I get too lazy or tired. I am literally too tired from nothing. So basically, what I think my problem is that I have no motivation to do anything because every day is the same. All I do is sleep until 12:00 or 1:00 in the afternoon, do homework when I can finally force myself to do it, and then workout in my living room. There’s not much to my day. I don’t even watch movies or tv shows, I just watch youtube videos once in a while because I get bored so easily I lose interest so quickly. I think I’m going to start watching a tv show series to give me something to do. My fa...
