Step 1: Review Ideas - Madeleine Perko

  • The Game Changers: review the documentary and its concept of a plant based diet. It is a documentary I have been wanting to see and i think watching it with the lens of evaluating its cinematography as well as its content (advocating for a plant based diet) would be interesting.
  • NU.in experience: I think reviewing this for myself would be interesting. I have done it a lot mentally, but to put it on paper in a concrete way would be productive and interesting especially if I put the review in terms of myself and tried to reflect on how it would potentially be different or similar for another person.
  • The Office: this TV show is so popular and for so many reasons captivates me. There is something very intricate and deliberate about the acting and why the show works as a whole. It is interesting how it is often very offensive and yet heartwarming. This is a paradox that would be interesting to further evaluate.

    As the lone person in class who has yet to leave American borders, I think a review on the NU.in experience would be really cool! Study abroad is (literally) a foreign concept to me so I think it'd be interesting to read a review about it

    I think it would be really interesting to review you Nuin experience there is definitely a lot to unpack there and it could be really helpful for furture Nuin kids.

    Madeleine, I think The Game Changers or The Office could be good topics. With The Office, I think you'd want to pick one aspect — a story line or a character arc or something — and talk about how and why that was effective or entertaining. There's so much to it, and maybe you're getting at something when you talk about the acting, et cetera. Let's talk about it, if you want.

    I think writing about the NU In program could be tricky. You have deep experience with one location in the program, but not all the others.

Victoria's Prompt Ideas

One of my favorite shows is Grey’s Anatomy.  It has been on air for so long, and so much has changed over the course of its time on TV.  I can start watching anywhere in the series and still be sucked in to tapping “next episode” over and over. Instead of writing about the show itself, it could be interesting to review the show’s evolution from the beginning to what it is like now. The NUin program- this could be an interesting thing to review because it is full of expectations and it is very much an opinion (because so many people had so many different experiences, and view them differently).  I also think there is a lot of room to talk about background information and to talk about my own views on whether I’d recommend the program and describe how I felt during my experiences in the program.  One of my favorite pairs of shoes I own is my Birkenstocks. Three choices for things I would be interested in reviewing are as follows; the book The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind , the movie Marriage Story , as well as the movie The Shawshank Redemption . I have chosen two movies and a book as the media I would find preferable for review options, because they are very good stay inside activities. I would like to review The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind, because it is the book I am currently reading, so I will be able it a fair analysis, having been recently actively involved with it. Marriage Story and The Shawshank Redemption  are movies I would consider reviewing, because I have been told that they're good, but I haven't gotten around to seeing for myself.
