Who am I? Why am I here?
Who am I? That’s a good question. Well for starters, my name is Alexandra Kaye Fenlon, but everyone calls me Allie. I live in a small town in New Jersey with my mom, dad, brother, and two cats. Throughout my childhood, I was extremely into acting and singing, that’s right, I was a theater kid. I was also on at least one soccer team at all times from Pre-K to my junior year in high school. I played many sports and participated in many activities for long periods of time like my 14-year dance career or my eight-year basketball career to name a few which both stopped once I started high school. I attended a regional high school, where my class size jumped from 97 to 510 students. At Watchung Hills, I was a part of the soccer team for three years, I was in many different clubs, part of the chorus, I was on the fencing team for four years, and was the captain of the fencing team for two years. I was always extremely high energy and needed many activities to keep me busy.
What am I doing here? Well in an upfront and blunt way, I am here in this class because I did not get a score of four or higher on my Language and Composition AP test and I refused to take the Literature and Composition AP test. Simply put, this class is a requirement. In a more broad sense, I am here at Northeastern for many reasons. One being that I am an extremely indecisive person so the co-op program here seemed as though it would be a great fit for me knowing that I have absolutely no clue what I am going to do for the rest of my life other than helping people. Another reason that I am here is that I got into the NUin program. At first, I was not going to do it, but I love to travel and learn about different cultures and why people are the way they are. Northeastern was the perfect school for me even if I did not know at first.
In an even more broad sense, I am here because of my ankles. Let me explain. The first time I sprained my ankle was when I was five years old and my first physical therapy session was when I was twelve for my ankles. I went to JAG physical therapy until I was 17 years old. I began volunteering there when I was 14 and I have worked there ever since as a Physical Therapy Aide. This is the reason I want to be in the medical field. I love my job and being able to help people that are injured and watch them heal. I am currently undecided in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences because I simply do not know specifically how I want to help these people. Simply put, I am here at Northeastern University to study to be a medical professional.
