I have a strong love for concerts. Music is something I have always valued because through it, emotions are conveyed, messages are spread, and happiness results. The unifying factor of songs are what make them so impactful. This is my favorite part of going to a concert. The idea behind everyone coming together as one (despite differences, or backgrounds), but instead to listen and simply enjoy music. I find it satisfying that I have more than 10 different playlists on my phone, each for a different mood I may be in. I add on often to all of these playlists so that they stay updated. First is my "feels" playlist which contains around 450 songs. These songs are usually emotion-based. Artists within this playlist (to name a few) include: Adele, Jaymes Young, and Billie Eilish. Next is my "party bus" playlist which contains hype/party songs and lots of rap artists. Third is "TU" which stands for turn up and has songs with Cardi B and City Girls. Then, there is "throwbacks" which is made up of all music from previous times ranging from Justin Bieber to Britney Spears. As said before, I have a lot more but I'm sure my idea has been conveyed. If I'm feeling sad, soft music becomes an outlet for me to express the emotions I am feeling through lyrics. On the contrary, if I want something more upbeat, I can always count on energetic songs to get me excited.

In relation to genres, I believe all are important. Although I mostly listen to rap/hip-hop, pop, and indie/alternative, there are a few songs that are in the r&b and country genre that I enjoy. To add, when going to dance clubs or events, EDM/house music is often played, which I some-what enjoy. I find necessity in having variety with what you listen to. Sometimes people question how I can jam out to Drake one moment and Oh Wonder the next. The truth is, I need to have options. I would get extremely tired of only listening to one type of genre and never another. It's the same when it comes to artists. Of course I have my favorites, but the more the merrier! In fact, one of my favorite things to do is to discover new artists or songs through public Spotify playlists.

This all brings me back to my main point/topic of concerts. I was inspired to write a blog about music because I just came from my first concert of the year at House of Blues Boston. The artist was: Trippie Redd. He is a 20-year old rapper who's sings intensely about love. He is definitely not everyone's "cup of tea," but I enjoy him as an artist because of how strongly his songs impact me. I have notably also been to many other concerts which include: Justin Bieber, Drake, Lil Uzi, Travis Scott, and Lil Pump. My first ever concert was my freshman year of high school where this pop-duo known as Jack & Jack were the headliners.
