Ideas for a Review
1. The Shawshank Redemption - I haven't seen this movie before, but I've been wanting to for some time now and I've heard good things about it. I like Morgan Freeman as an actor and I could use other movies I've seen with him in it to frame my expectations. On the other hand, I haven't really seen many movies of this genre, so it would also be interesting for me to see how I like this style of film.
2. Pulp Fiction - I have seen this movie before, and I'm a big fan of Quentin Tarantino's work. However, I have only seen the movie once and it's been a while since I've watched it. The main part of the movie that I remember is that it's not shot chronologically, which is one of my favorite aspects of it. I feel like I could still have interesting expectations for it now that I've watched more of Tarantino's films after watching this one to compare it again.
3. International Village Dining hall pizza - Although we were somewhat told to stray away from food, I feel like this I could write the best review for. I love cooking and trying new foods, especially pizza. So, I think that narrowing the specific type of food down to one item from the dining hall could be very interesting and I feel more creative than a movie review. I would also have a better sense of audience since I would imagine anyone reading the review would know or atleast have an idea of what IV Dining hall pizza tastes like.

I really like your idea of reviewing International Village Dining hall pizza. I think it could make for a great argument on whether or not you recommend it based on your past experiences with cooking and trying different types of pizza. It is also something that can be easily related to in the class as you mentioned, most of us would know what the pizza in IV tastes like.

DeleteNick, as I just mentioned to Samantha, a lot of former students consider Shawshank their favorite movie, so I've read a bunch of reviews of it. (This is not to say that you shouldn't do it, just a note about your audience!).
ReplyDeletePulp Fiction could also work. I would discourage you from reviewing the Dining Hall, especially since, well ...
