Review Ideas
The first thing that I am interested in reviewing is the recently released movie, After. Based on a book series by Anna Todd, this is a teenage romance movie that pegged me as good at the surface but could have been much better. Also, having read the book I would like to base some of my critique on how the movie and book differ and remain similar.
The second thing that I am interested in reviewing is Justin Bieber's new album, Changes. I would like to write a review on this because I will admit that I was once (and still am to a degree) a big Biebs fan plus I love music. I think it will be interesting to compare his latest album to all of his previous works.
The third thing that I am interested in reviewing is one of the new and top trending shows on Netflix, Love is Blind. I began watching this show on the flight back to Boston after spring break and the concept, while not really original, is intriguing nonetheless. Speed dating and blind dating have been around for a very long time, but with all these dating reality shows such as The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Love Island, Bachelors in Paradise, etc. I have never come across one similar to Love is Blind. As far as trashy TV goes, this show fits in pretty well, however, there is definitely more to say and more to think about which is why I would want to dive deeper into this show.
After re-reading all of my review choices, I can see how questionable these all are (cringey teen love story, Justin Bieber, and "trashy" reality tv). But hopefully, they will make for an entertaining and good review.

I have been wanting to watch the movie After, as I have heard good things about it. I think that would be a really good idea to compare how the movie and book differ and maybe even offer or own opinion into which one you prefer. Also, I just watched Love is Blind a couple days ago and I think it would make for a great review, as I definitely have certain opinions about it. -Mikayla
ReplyDeleteI think writing about "After" would be fun. You could write about how it originated (as a Harry Styles fanfic) and how it evolved. You could also write about why it is that "cringey teen movie" too.
ReplyDeleteYour point of view on the movie After could be really cool. Since you read both the book and watched the movie, you have a point of view in which your expectations weren't fulfilled, and ou can expand on that. Also, I watched love is blind too! It would be fun to read a review on it.

DeleteReviewing After could be very interesting especially since you read the book and can make important comparisons. I also watched the show Love is Blind and I think a review of it would be a good idea, that show was crazy!
ReplyDeleteKK, I don't know anything about After, but I've heard a ton about Love is Blind. I think either one sounds like it could be a good topic for review. I particularly like the idea that you've read the book AND watched the movie for "After." It might give you a chance to talk about what the point of an adaptation is — should it simply be to "illustrate" the book? Or should it be its own thing?
