During this period of social distancing, the days are starting to blur together because of the repetitive routine of watching lectures, studying for exams, completing assignments, while finding moments in between to spend time with my dog, eat dinner, and watch some Netflix. I think that some good things are coming out of this period of social distancing: more family time, cooking family meals, going on walks, and getting some time to slow down and take time for myself to read or watch some movies or series on Netflix. Last week I had my first online test for biology. It was on plants and some animals. I spent so much time last week studying for that test, and honestly it wasn’t an easy test to study for or take. This whole semester I have been trying different study methods from study guides, to flashcards, to flowcharts, to try to do my best in this class. I am not really sure what the best combination is for studying, but hopefully this class will he...
Those are all fantastic ideas for reviews! I can't wait to see which one you decide to do!!
ReplyDeleteI like the NUin program idea because there is so much you can write about for that, especially since this review has to be 750-1000 words long. It will be really interesting to see what you got from NUin and maybe, if it is a really good review, it might even end up on the website. I also like the birkenstocks idea but that might be a little harder to write about for that long.
ReplyDeleteI really like all of these ideas. I think maybe the Grey's anatomy one could be a little hard just because there are so many seasons. I'd be really interested in reading your review on Birkenstocks. I would've never thought about reviewing a shoe, but it is an excellent idea.
ReplyDeleteI really like the NUin program idea, it's different than a movie or book because it's literally and experience and I'm sure the expectations you had are much different than it actually ended up being.
ReplyDeleteI think the Nuin program is something you could definitely run with. While it was was fun overall what were the downsides? How does it make your college experience different than others? What expectations were you made to meet? Did you have any goals? Its a personal experience and how you decided that it was can easily be reflected in your work. Plus if it was ever published you could use your own photos which would be sick.
ReplyDeleteI think the NUin program is a really good idea, and something that you could write a very successful review about! From my experience, NUin was not the experience I had thought it was going to be. There were unexpected good things and unexpected bad things. You can talk about how the program has been beneficial and/or detrimental to your life. I think you can also touch on how doing NUin has affected you and your time at Northeastern this second semester.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these ideas!! The NUin program and the birks would be so unique. A review on Grey's Anatomy would be so interesting to read because I've loved the show for so long as well!! The NUin experience would also be cool because it would be cool to see how your experience was compared to mine in Ireland! I Also, LOVE my birks too so it would be cool to see an entire review on them.

I think all of these potential topics are really great! I especially think it 1 and 2 would be interesting for you to explore for yourself and would be engaging for people reading your reflection. I am super intrigued by 3 but want to hear more about what direction you would take it. It sounds like a really cool opportunity to be creative.
ReplyDeletethis was Madeleine Perko
DeleteVictoria, I think all of these are interesting possibilities. The NUIn program might present particular challenges — you have direct experience of one aspect of it, but not all the locations.
ReplyDeleteI think Grey's Anatomy could be good. As I said on Julia's post, it's hard to figure out what exactly to review. It's just not possible to do the whole series. But it is possible to look back on it and say what you liked about it, or why you think it has stuck with you this whole time.
