I am stressed. I do not know how many weeks into online classes we are, but I still feel as though we started yesterday. I am constantly scared that I am missing assignments. It is not that I am drowning in work, it is that I am getting so many due dates for so many assignments that I cannot keep track of them. In short, quarantine is driving me crazy. It is so boring. Wake up, class, breakfast, work, dinner, sleep, repeat. I have been around my family and my cats for way too long. First of all, I have been spending too much time with my cats. Now, for most people this would be a blessing, but I think I may be going crazy. Secondly, I obviously haven’t been going to the gym, so I am becoming completely and utterly out of shape. This, above all else, is driving me the craziest. Despite that, I have no motivation whatsoever to work out.
The one interesting constant in my quarantined life has been my sassy cat. He’s an all-white grumpy old man of a cat. Yesterday I had a full fight with my cat as if he was talking back to me. More specifically, my cat knocked my glass of water into my night table drawer. When I walked in, I noticed, looked at him, and he meowed at me as if he was saying “it wasn’t me.” I then had a whole fight with him which consisted of me yelling at him, him meowing back with a snippy rebuttal, and me continuing… He always has to have the last word. I swear this cat is testing me. Then, about an hour later, he tried to test the waters once more. He was laying down on my bed, he stood up, walked over to my night table, I yelled at him, and he laid down on the pillow next to the night table. Then, when he thought I wasn’t looking, he put his paw next to my water on the night table. Can you imagine how mad I was? Long story short, I moved him. He then did the same laying on the pillow maneuver, but he decided to put his entire head into my water cup. The nerve on this one.

On the bright side, I think I, along with the rest of my family, are getting better at cooking. Before quarantine, my family would get takeout 3-5 days of the week. Sure, we have gotten takeout in the past couple of weeks, but I think we have only ordered food twice in the last few weeks, which is a massive accomplishment. You really do not understand how big a milestone this is. Over the summer, I did not know how to cook at all. In Ireland, I had to learn how to cook which transferred to this first semester on Northeastern’s Boston campus. I cooked my famous stir-fry, a fan-favorite, and other smaller dishes for my family. This, along with quarantine, I think jump-started my family’s new cooking craze.
