Blog #12- Mikayla
I am currently trying to register for classes. I thought that I had them all planned out and then I looked this morning to see that the one class that I really wanted with a certain professor was already full. The rest of the classes still have about 20 seats left, but with them being large lecture style classes, I hope those 20 are still there at 11am. When planning out my classes I thought that there must be a better way of doing this. How do they select the students who get to register at 8am and those who register at 2pm? We all know those students at 2pm are not getting into half of the classes that they wanted to. But, as long as I can get the new classes on my plan then I will be set. I am actually very happy that we get to make our own schedules. I won't be stuck with three 8ams and 2 9:50s, as I am not a morning person at all. Even though I am not a morning person, I still made my classes start at 9:15am and 9:50am, not only because these were the times available for the classes that I needed, but I actually prefer to get some classes over with earlier in the day. When I say earlier in the day, I definitely do not mean 8am, but I feel like that extra hour and 15 minutes of sleep actually really helps.
The longer this quarantine continues, the more excited I am about Sophomore year. I feel like coming back from N.U.in was a bit of an adjustment and we were not on the Boston campus for a long time. I feel like I was finally used to my classes and my daily routine when this global pandemic decided to take over. It will be nice to (hopefully) have a full year on campus sophomore year. My friends and I were placed in singles next to each other when we arrived in Boston for the Spring semester Freshman year. Although this was great, it was weird not living with someone and I actually missed it. Some people may think that we are crazy, but for Sophomore year we have a triple. It is a three-person bedroom, with a kitchen, bathroom, and small living room. I think that it will be nice to all live together, because living in singles sometimes felt very isolated. I was in Greece during the best time of the year (in my opinion), which is Fall. At the beginning of Fall it is still hot and you can still hangout outside and enjoy the sun, and then it gets to be the perfect weather when you can still go outside, but you need a sweatshirt. Then, the time hits when you can not go anywhere without the heavy winter jacket. Anyways, even though classes can be hard, I miss living on campus so much and I can not wait until Sophomore year.
